I had the opportunity to attend the Midwest E3 Summit  (Empowering an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem) which was held in Indianapolis July 11-12. What a great learning experience! The event began with a welcome dinner and keynote address by Gary Anderson on July 11. The majority of the day on July 12 was dedicated to an education session presented by Bob Okabe of the Angel Resource Institute (ARI). The program culminated with a panel of entrepreneurs and their angels from across the Midwest. And, throughout, there was plenty of time for networking.

The team at StepStone Business Partners and Lodestone Logic should be commended for a wonderful event. If any of you entrepreneurs or angels out there is looking for some great education programs about angel investing, I highly recommend you look into the Power of Angel Investing (PAI) series developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and distributed by the Angel Resource Institute (ARI).  The content is provided by angel experts and angel group leaders from around the country.

The importance and relevance of the information and the quality of the delivery at the Midwest E3 Summit was outstanding. If this is representative of the series (and I’m sure it is), it will be well worth the financial and time investment for anyone wanting a better understanding of the angel investing process, how angels add value and what they are looking for in their investments.
